The postgraduate MSc in Oral Health Sciences is a three-year degree programme with five graduation profiles: Endodontology, Periodontology, Oral Implantology, Oral Kinesiology & Paediatric Dentistry.
The three-year, full-time OHS programme trains students to become experts in a specific field of Oral Health Sciences. This English-taught postgraduate programme is available to BIG-registered dentists with at least one year of clinical experience. Each year consists of 60 EC, taught in two semesters. In each semester, attention is given to generic courses, profile specific courses, the Research Track and clinical work. There is a 50/50 ratio between the theoretical/didactic training and clinical training practice. After graduation, employment for graduates in the field of expertise is (almost) guaranteed: the graduation profiles are recognised by their respective European and/or Dutch professional associations and due to the relatively small intake and number of graduates, there are sufficient employment vacancies. OHS graduates are also encouraged to continue with a PhD research project, at ACTA or elsewhere. Moreover, the OHS programme is a breeding ground for future ACTA lecturers.
